Welcome to Manna Cafe & Bakery!
Our menus are centered around great breads, and the foods that go well on them! It is homey food, but always with a touch of something just a little different (a reduction of fresh blackberries to sauce our ribs, a slightly spicy Russian dressing on our Reuben, or slow-scrambled eggs cooked to the creamy, custardy standards of the great Julia Child) to make it just a touch not ordinary. Nothing frilly, nothing pretentious -- just well-crafted dishes that make you feel good all over. Every entry in our menus is tried, perfected, and loved, and each person has his or her own favorite. Locally-roasted coffees, hand-crafted espresso drinks, a beautiful selection of teas as well as Wisconsin craft brews and selection of wines round out our offerings. Walk in the door and you are immediately warmed by the earthy colors, cheery staff, and friendly hubub of the locals. From our bright, sunny front dining room, to the cozy, soapstone fireplace in the back, there is a space for every need. You can sidle up to the counter and shmooze with our gregarious baristas, or hide in a corner chair and have your own quiet time. And every here and there are the ties that bind -- bits of Collins House decor and design features that help keep alive the good memories of joyous weddings, regular guests, and a host of great stories...all centered around the love of food and a good friendship! We love to eat and we love to cook, and we can barely contain ourselves when we create menus, because there is SO MUCH GOOD FOOD to be shared.
